Favorite/longshot bias

The favorite/longshot bias is a bias that occurs when based on the odds offered the betting public actually prefer to risk betting on the longshot thus pushing the market in that direction shortening the odds on the longshot and at the same time lengthening them on the favorite and creating value on that selection.

The favorite/longshot bias occurs in several sports including tennis.
