Handball, EHF Champions League This is a match from the last round in the group C. Everything is clear about the winner, Barcelona are on the first position. Here are the standings: 1. FC Barcelona 17 2. PSG Handball 11 3. Vardar Skopje 10 4. Metalurg 10 —————————- 5. HC Dinamo Minsk 5 6. Wacker Thun 1 As You can see, PSG Handball and Vardar are fighting for the second position. It is very important, the second placed team will get easier opponent in the knock-out stage and will play the second match at home. I expect a tight match at Halle George Carpentier in Paris. The hosts are favorites, no doubt about that. They have some extra-ordinary players like Hansen, Kopljar, Vori, Gojun, Bojinovic, Gunnarsson etc. However, this is not a perfect moment for PSG. The French outfit suffered a heavy defeat in Barcelona last weekend. The final result was 38:28, but 10-goals advantage was secured in the first half. In the second half Barcelona played relaxed. Two weeks ago PSG played against the second Macedonian side, Metalurg. It is true that PSG won that match (32:29), but showed big weaknesses. Vardar are in solid form at the moment. They are in series of two consecutive victories in Champions League, plus one against Tatran Presov in SEHA league. Here are the matches in the group C: 16.02.2014. Vardar Skopje – Wacker Thun 32:25 09.02.2014. Vardar Skopje – Dinamo Minsk 30:22 Karacic and Dibirov are in great form and I expect Vardar to produce lot of problems to PSG. The first match in Skopje finished with 24:24 draw (13.10.2013) and I expect another tight match. My opinion, Vardar won’t lose in Paris.
