Arsenal vs Chelsea

Probable starting eleven:Arsenal:Szeczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Walcott, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla; Ozil; GiroudChelsea:Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Hazard; Oscar, TorresI will back Arsenal here. There are three main reasons for my pick. The first is connect with the hosts. Arsenal have a good season and they are on the top. Of course, at the moment Liverpool occupied the first place, but Arsenal have a match in hand (this one against Chelsea) and a victory here could see them on the top of the table. The manager Arsene Wenger is doing an excellent job and the fans are satisfied. The new aqcuisition Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid is the player they missed all this years. Plus, Arsenal have a good home record – six wins on the eight matches in the Premier League. The second reason is connect with Chelsea. The Blues played in mixed form this season. The form is not convincing, particularly on road. Chelsea have only three wins on eight away matches. The fans expected much more from Jose Mourinho, but it seems the reality is different. I read two interesting statistical new for Chelsea. First, the Blues have kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League matches. And second, no striker has scored an away league goal for Chelsea in 2013. Fernando Torres was the last forward to net on the road for the Blues, doing so in a 3:1 win at Sunderland on 8 December 2012. Mourinho has some additional problems in front of this match as midfielder Mickael Essien is under suspension, while Ryan Bertrand and Marco Van Ginkel are injured. Finally, Chelsea suffered two defeats on the last two away games in all competitions. They lost from Stoke in the Premier League and were eliminated by Sunderland in Capital One Cup quarter-final. 17.12.2013. Sunderland – Chelsea 2:1 AET – Capital One Cup07.12.2013. Stoke City – Chelsea 3:2I expect Arsenal to win.
