QPR v Man Utd

QPR(ah+1) Rangers should give Utd a tough test. The supporters may be getting a bit sick of the teams attitude and performances away from home(0 pts from 10 games) but QPRs home form this season has been excellent. 5-4-2 is some record for a promoted side in such a tough competition. Rangers have taken more points at home than big clubs like Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle. Its not a side with a great deal of speed so maybe that could be part of the reason they enjoy playing on that tight park and dont travel so well. I think the home form will keep Rangers up, and ofcourse they have a top class goalscorer in Austin, but a quick look at the league table proves there is a lot still plenty of work to be done. Arrys side sit 19th although 3 points covers 8 positions.. . its going to be some scrap again this season. It did seem as though Utd were possibly going to put in some sort of challenge to City and Chelsea as they won 6 in a row playing some pretty decent football too. But a poor xmas period with just 1 win in 5 means the best Van Gaal can hope for is a place in the CL. I think that would be a decent 1st season but its not going to be easy as both Southampton and Spurs look very strong and we know Arsenal and Wenger always grab a top 4 place. They were very poor against Southampton last week, made so few openings and couldnt break down a strong Saints defence. Its just 1 goal in 3 games for Utd now and while their backline has been a bit stronger i still think its suspect and cant believe there wasnt top class centre backs signed. Im sure the manager knows a lot more about tactics and formations than i do but i dont like this 3 at the back system they are using. Too much space out wide and too many times when the 3 defenders are caught with balls played in behind them. They look confused to me and clearly dont enjoy it. I expect a close game here im a bit surprised at how high the odds are on Rangers to win the game(almost 6/1 seems massive) when their home form is so strong and Utd have been average at best since Sir Alex retired. I think QPRs front 2 should give Utd a tough afternoon and that they will be strong enough to take a point. Maybe 1-1. Rangers+1 with vic at 1. 80
